Virtual Automation Lab (VAL)

What we offer:
The Virtual Automation Lab (VAL) at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences is a research institute of the Faculty of Machines and Systems. The core competence of the VAL is the research and application of mixed reality (MR) methods in mechanical engineering. At the VAL, a novel framework has already been successfully developed that enables the engineering of a 3D scene in a standard web browser and the automatic generation of 3D holograms on arbitrary augmented reality (AR) terminals and virtual reality (VR) terminals. Since 2016, the VAL has already been transferring the research results into software solutions as part of the BW Industrie 4.0 transfer platform in order to offer small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) low-threshold access to AR/VR technologies. In addition to the research activities, the VAL is committed to the
application-oriented dissemination of MR technologies.

What we are looking for:
We are looking forward to the contact with application partners from industry and SMEs as well as to the exchange with research partners in the topic area of the digital twin, cloud technologies and mixed reality technologies.
